Coronavirus Update

Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus we are having to follow restrictions implemented by the Government and Local Authorities whilst maintaining our professional personal service with the upmost respect and care for your loved one.

The Government and Local Authorities have imposed certain restrictions that would not normally be required and hope you can appreciate these are unprecedented times.

To help families Register a death the doctor will complete a Medical Certificate Cause of Death (MCCD) which they will electronically forward to the Registrars rather than you having to collect it from the hospital or surgery.

On receipt of the MCCD the Registrar will contact you to arrange a Registration Appointment over the telephone. The Registrars will then electronically send the relevant documents to us. Should the General Practitioner give you the MCCD you can either deliver it to the Registrars by posting it through their letter box or bring it into us and we will scan and e mail it to the Registrars on your behalf.

At this very difficult time we can make the funeral arrangements for your loved one over the telephone.

We can advise and discuss your requirements by telephone then e mail and post all the relevant forms for you to sign and then post them back to us. Keeping you home and safe for as much of the arrangements as possible.

Should you need to call into the office we are having to limit this to only two immediate family members, following the Social Distancing guidelines of maintaining 2 metres apart.

If you or your loved one have had symptoms or have come into contact with someone with symptoms please let us know and follow the NHS guidance on self-isolation.

Unfortunately, religious places of worship are not allowing a funeral service to take place in their buildings. You can have a funeral service at the graveside and crematorium for immediate family with limited numbers whilst maintaining social distancing. We would advise high risk groups not to attend the arrangement or funeral service.

At the moment we are unable to provide limousines and ask if you could use your own transport. We can either call to the house for you to follow in your own car or we can arrange to meet you at the crematorium or cemetery. You are able to visit your loved one in our private chapel of rest but again only 2 members of the family and this would have to be by appointment.

If your loved one’s death was coronavirus related, you may spend time with your loved one in our chapel of rest but the coffin will be closed to prevent any further infection and to keep you and our staff safe.

This is not the service we would hope to provide and when the pandemic is over, if you wish to arrange a memorial service for your loved one which we can assist you with when all the current restrictions are lifted.

We are here to help support and guide you through these difficult times.

Thank you for your understanding.
